Where service to the elderly
begins by being a friend.

Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly is a national nonprofit organization committed to relieving isolation and loneliness among the elderly. We offer, to people of good will, the opportunity to join the elderly in friendship and the celebration of life.

Our services are free of charge to the elderly.

The "we" in all of our work utilizes the talents of over 1400 volunteers who work on our behalf. These generous people are guided by a staff of 7.

These volunteers bring their skills, talents, and time to our programs. We depend on them to drive our friends to medical and hospital appointments, visit, and cook and bake for our parties. Volunteers also help with office tasks, mailings, and photography.

A dozen student organizations at Michigan Technological University help with the firewood programs.

Our oversight and planning committees are composed primarily of volunteers who work in our programs. Our Board of Directors is made up of volunteers drawn from the local communities. They also are active in our programs.
