For over 25 years, Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly has partnered with Lambda Chi Alpha at Michigan Technological University for their North American Food Drive. The goal of the North American Food Drive is to collect three million pounds of donated food in the U.S! Little Brothers and Lambda Chi hopes to collect 7,000 pounds of food this fall, and we need your help!
Little Brothers uses the collected food items for our monthly food bag program for elders who need assistance. One month of the year, instead of a food bag, we provide a Christmas Food Box. The Christmas Food Box items are the same in each box and include applesauce, canned ham, Trenary Cinnamon Toast, and more!
Paper bags will be dropped off on doorsteps in our community. If you do not get a bag by November 5th, stop by a local gas station, grocery store, or Little Brothers. Fill the bag and leave it near your front door. On Saturday, November 6, 2021 between 9am and 4pm, Lambda Chi Alpha brothers will be picking up the bags of food and bringing them to Little Brothers. Thank you in advance for your donation and helping us reach our goal!
If you would like to volunteer by distributing bags or sorting the incoming donations, please contact Sarah Hoffman, Program Director, at email@example.com or (906) 482-6944.
