Some of our key volunteer needs include...
Friendly Visiting Program
The Friendly Visiting Program is really the heart of Little Brothers. Through this program, volunteers are matched up to visit an elderly person on a regular basis with the intent that they form a meaningful friendship. This can include running errands, taking walks, sharing coffee, reminiscing--the list is endless. The resulting friendship may continue through a lifetime.
A wonderful opportunity awaits volunteers who wish to make a difference in someone's life.
Social Activities and Holiday Celebrations Programs
Volunteers are needed for all these activities to help with transportation, food prep, set up, serving, clean up, and most importantly-companionship.
Direct Services
Volunteers are always needed to provide transportation for our elderly friends to medical appointments, take people shopping, deliver monthly food bags, and cut, split, stack or deliver firewood.
Office Tasks
We need help with various office tasks, including addressing and stuffing envelopes, writing acknowledgments to donors, bookkeeping and filing, computer entry, and answering the phone.
Public Relations
We need volunteers with skills in still photography or video, update our Power Point presentations, make posters and brochures, and help with speaking engagements.
We welcome volunteers in whatever areas you decide. May all of us work in the spirit of our motto Flowers Before Bread, which describes our philosophy that the pleasures of life are as important to the human spirit as bread is to the body.
